The United Spinal Liberty women’s wheelchair basketball team will be participating in the 32nd Annual National Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Tournament in Birmingham, Alabama. The 2005 National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Prep League National Champions, the United Spinal Junior Nets wheelchair basketball team, is preparing to defend their title at this year’s National Jr. Prep Championships United Spinal Association and the New York Rangers and New York Islanders, respectively, will be hosting a sled hockey clinic in conjunction with Wheelchair Sports of Tampa. 534 of the finest athletes with physical disabilities—including United Spinal members—from around the world will come together for ten days of elite competition before an estimated audience of 250,000. Brooklyn, NY––United Spinal Association member Damon Rozier, along with members of the United Spinal Jets Quad Rugby team, will be demonstrating the game of quad rugby during a school assembly at P.S. 346 / Abe Stark School at 1400 Pennsylvania Ave. , Brooklyn on Friday, February 17, 2006. Wheelchair basketball star Edy Lopez, a resident of Amityville, NY, has been selected to play in the 2006 NBA/National Wheelchair Basketball Association All-Star Classic on February 16th in Houston, Texas. The game, to be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center, will take place in conjunction with the NBA’s All-Star Game 2006. |
