Largest Conference For Professionals in SCI/D

United Spinal Association will sponsor the largest annual gathering of professionals working in the field of spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D) in North America from September 5–7, 2006 at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Health care professionals from all specialties in the field of SCI/D are invited to attend this outstanding program, which also provides an excellent opportunity to network with fellow professionals.

The meeting––an annual event for over 20 years––consists of three concurrent conferences targeting physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers and physical and occupational therapists. The conference, presented by the American Paraplegia Society (APS), the American Association of Spinal Cord Injury Psychologists and Social Workers (AASCIPSW), and the American Association of Spinal Cord Injury Nurses (AASCIN), features a full program of informative presentations on current research trends, new developments in the treatment of SCI/D, and recent issues in rehabilitation. It also provides a forum for professional information exchange and continuing education.

The conferences feature professional presentations, workshops, and keynote addresses by internationally renowned experts, abstracts and poster presentations, as well as numerous vendors showcasing innovative products and services. Presentations of particular interest include: Anabolic Steroid Therapy on Pressure Ulcer Healing in Persons with SCI; New Technological Advances for Treatment of Cervical Stenosis; A Novel Intraurethral Catheter for Spinal Cord Injured Males; Gold Standards, Tarnished Trials, and New Hopes in SCI; and Surgery for Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy.

The Annual SCI Conference is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), Division 22––Rehabilitation Psychology of the American Psychological Association, the National Association of Social Workers, the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
