2007 North American Spinal Cord Injury Conference & Disability Expo

Jackson Heights, NY – The 2007 North American Spinal Cord Injury Conference & Disability Expo invites medical professionals specializing in the field of spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D) to meet with colleagues at the luxurious Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center, in Orlando, Florida. Join over 1,200 professionals from across the Northern Hemisphere from August 27–29, 2007 for one of the most important informational and networking gatherings in this fast-growing field of treatment and rehabilitation.

The American Association of Spinal Cord Injury Nurses (AASCIN) will report on research findings and share important information regarding the nurse’s role in advancing health care for patients with SCI/D. AASCIN will also recognize outstanding nurses who have devoted their careers to enhancing the lives of people with SCI. The deadline for registration is July 1, 2007. The American Association of Spinal Cord Injury Psychologists and Social Workers (AASCIPSW) will target the latest standards in health care, treatment breakthroughs, national health care policies, and regulations impacting the lives of people with SCI/D, as well as technologies and pharmaceuticals to improve psychosocial care. American Paraplegia Society (APS) professionals will also convene to report on state-of-the-art treatment techniques, disseminate information about scientific and technological advancements, and discuss developments in research. Call for Papers & Posters

AASCIN, AASCIPSW and APS have also issued their 2007 Call for Papers and Posters for prospective conference faculty. Abstracts and all other supporting material must be submitted electronically by Friday, January 5, 2007. Presenters are not required to be members of each respective Association in order to submit an abstract for consideration.

The 2007 North American Spinal Cord Injury Conference & Disability Expo is sponsored by United Spinal Association, a national membership organization that has been nationally recognized for contributing over $52 million to support ground-breaking research in SCI/D since 1946. Membership in the association is free and open to all people with spinal cord injuries or disorders.
