FREE Wheelchair Basketball Clinic in Jackson Heights

Jackson Heights, NY–On Saturday, May 10th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Bulova Park, 25th Avenue at 77th Street in Jackson Heights, Queens, anyone with a mobility disability is invited to learn how to play wheelchair basketball.

Wheelchairs specifically designed for basketball will be available for clinic participants.

Coaches and players representing nine different men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams from the New York City metro area will provide instruction and encouragement.

This event is being held to celebrate 55 years of organized wheelchair basketball in the New York metropolitan area.

Refreshments and prizes will be available to anyone who tries wheelchair basketball, and a new 32” flat screen television will be raffled off among clinic participants.

Sponsors of this event include the Jackson Heights-based United Spinal Association, Independence Care System, the City of New York Department of Parks & Recreation, the Wheelchair Sports Federation, and the Eastern Wheelchair Basketball Conference.
