Now is the time to have your voices heard in support of stem cell research. United Spinal is joining in with the Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research (CAMR) and calling upon President Obama to fulfill his campaign promise and reverse the George W. Bush policy on banning federal money for stem cell research.

United Spinal has worked closely with the CAMR coalition in support of responsible and ethical stem cell research. We anticipate that an executive order from President Obama would be similar to legislation that Congress passed but President Bush vetoed. It would prohibit remuneration of any kind to the donors of the embryos and allows use only of embryos that will otherwise be destroyed by in vitro fertilization clinics. Legislation is expected to be introduced sometime in the next few months.
