It’s Almost New York Independence Expo Time

Check your calendar and be sure to reserve Saturday, June 27th & Sunday June 28th for the New York Independence Expo, the premier expo for people with disabilities and aging Americans.

Active Living For All is this year’s theme and Independence Expo is where the activity starts. Rows of exhibitors showing the latest products that you can touch, try, and ask about to your heart’s content. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to get up close to products you’ve had your eyes on or window shop the exhibits for something new and interesting.

Be sure to leave some time to attend a few of the great Consumer Workshops that will be going on non-stop each day at Independence Expo. We have put together an impressive list of topics that include accessible travel; employment; veterans benefits; living and aging in place; fitness, health, and nutrition; dating and sexuality; online networking; self-advocacy and lots more. They’re all free, designed with you in mind, and presented by some of the most knowledgeable people out there.
Check the Independence Expo website for workshop details and free registration.

There is still much more to do- Stop by the many organization booths and chat with representatives from your area non-profits. These fine folks can bring you up to speed on programs and services that they offer in your community. While your roaming, touching, chatting, asking, and learning, be sure to keep your eyes open for the freebies that will be given out and your ears open for raffle winner announcements. There will be over 100 super raffle prizes including 2 Southwest Airline tickets to anywhere in the USA, free tickets to events, restaurant and retail gift cards and lots more. You just may be a winner!

Most of all have fun. Network with others from your community who have similar interests. Connect with people and perhaps even make some lasting friendships. Relax and have a fun day that is stress free and cost free.

It’s not too late. Admission is still free with pre-registration.
Check the Independence Expo website for details and registration.
