Chapter Leadership Meeting Details

Upon review of your Application a United Spinal Association representative will contact you the week of August 14, 2017 regarding your status for the event.

Deadline:
The deadline to apply for CLM 2017 is Friday, August 11th, 2017.


HOTEL RESERVATIONS
All CLM Attendees will be reserved for arrival/check-in on Thursday, October 19 and departure/check-out on Saturday, October 21. United Spinal will cover room, tax and resort fee charges for the nights of Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 20, including accommodations for a PCA (when sharing hotel accommodations). If you would like to extend your stay, please indicate additional nights on the application form. We have secured a discounted rate of $70 per night plus tax and $29 daily resort fee. You will be responsible for the cost of any additional nights. Additional room nights are available on a first come first served basis.


Accessible Rooms:
All accessible rooms at the hotel are reserved for CLM attendees and cannot be reserved by calling the hotel directly. While this hotel offers many accessible rooms, please keep in mind there is a fixed quantity of each type. Requests will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.


Costs:
United Spinal Association pays room, resort fee and tax charges for the nights of October 19 and 20. Individuals are responsible for any incidental charges (internet, movies, room service etc.) and will be required to provide a credit card & identification upon check in.

Guestroom rates are based on single or double occupancy. Additional persons will be charged at a rate of $30.00 per person, per night with a maximum of 4 people per guestroom. You will be responsible for any charges for additional guests sharing your room.

Spinal Cord Injury

Spinal cord injury can result in paralysis of the muscles used for breathing; paralysis and/or loss of feeling in all or some of the trunk, arms, and legs; weakness; numbness; loss of bowel and bladder control; and numerous secondary conditions including respiratory problems, pressure sores, and sometimes fatal spikes in blood pressure. Approximately 12,000 new spinal cord injuries occur in the U.S. each year. A majority of injuries occur from motor vehicle accidents, falls, work-related accidents, sports injuries, and penetrations such as stab or gunshot wounds.

Our membership community provides a lifeline for many individuals that are focused on regaining their independence and improving their quality of life––whether they are leaving rehab after sustaining a spinal cord injury, learning to live with symptoms of a spinal cord disorder, or have spent years of frustration coping with disability. We provide members guidance and resources on a variety of topics they are passionate about, such as employment, affordable housing, transportation, health care, home- and community-based independent living, education, peer support, and leisure and recreation.
