MYOLIN facilitates FES Cycling Therapy for both home & health facilities for treating people with a wide range of neurological impairments.

Myolyn Mocycle in useFunctional Electrical Stimulation (FES) uses small amounts of electrical current to help muscles contract and generate a functional motion, even if those muscles are weak or paralyzed. MYOLYN’s products use FES to empower anyone who has difficulty activating their own muscles, hence MYOLYN’s slogan: Powering Your Potential.

FES can be used to help people with neurological disorders like spinal cord injury, stroke, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and more. It can also benefit people who have trouble activating their muscles after an orthopedic surgery like an ACL reconstruction or knee replacement.

Spinal Cord Injury

Spinal cord injury can result in paralysis of the muscles used for breathing; paralysis and/or loss of feeling in all or some of the trunk, arms, and legs; weakness; numbness; loss of bowel and bladder control; and numerous secondary conditions including respiratory problems, pressure sores, and sometimes fatal spikes in blood pressure. Approximately 12,000 new spinal cord injuries occur in the U.S. each year. A majority of injuries occur from motor vehicle accidents, falls, work-related accidents, sports injuries, and penetrations such as stab or gunshot wounds.
