Please take the time to read the information contained in these Frequently Asked Questions. This information will help you to prepare for the Chapter Leadership Meeting.

Attendees are responsible for arranging their own travel to/from the meeting. Meeting Well staff are available to assist you with arranging your travel to Las Vegas, NV, if needed.

Flying
McCarran International Airport serves Las Vegas, NV (airport code LAS). McCarran is less than 5 miles from the Rio All-Suite Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The airport website is https://www.mccarran.com. Accessibility information is available at https://www.mccarran.com/Find/Accessibility.aspx.

Make your travel plans for CLM 2017 by August 21

Attendees are responsible for arranging their own travel. We strongly encourage you to confirm your travel arrangements by August 21, 2 months prior to the event, to obtain the best flight schedules and pricing. Direct flights may not be available after this date. See the General Information and FAQ for more information to help you plan your travel. If you need assistance with your travel arrangements contact Sarah Laucks at Meeting Well (717-497-4305 or sarah@meetingwell.net).

Accessible Airport Shuttle
We recommend Airline Shuttle for accessible transportation from McCarran Airport to the Rio hotel and back:
• Airline Shuttle is one of four commercial shuttle companies serving McCarran Airport and the Las Vegas hotels.
• Visit their website for general information: http://www.bestairlineshuttle.com
• The cost is approximately $18.00 per person round trip from McCarran Airport to the Rio and back again.

How to Schedule Your Airport Pickup and Return:
• Click the “Reserve Your Airport Shuttle Today” button in the upper right corner of the website. Or go straight to this link: https://webbookgen.ddsefleet.com/frias/
• Complete the 3-page web form to book your shuttle.
• For accessible shuttle: On the second page of the form, in the “Name of Party” section, check the “ADA Required” box. By checking that box the vehicle that picks you up will be lift equipped.
• We recommend you follow up with the company to double-check that the transportation will meet your needs. The “Contact Us” page on their website includes their phone number and a form to send a message.

SPECIAL NOTE:
We carefully researched the four commercial shuttle companies serving McCarran Airport. We feel this company is the most equipped to take care of the needs of any CLM attendees who require accessible transportation. The company has indicated that they send lift-equipped vans for any guests who check the “ADA Required” box on the schedule form; however, we do feel a follow up phone call and/or email is a good step to double-check that transportation will meet your specific needs. If you have any questions please let us know.

Hotel Shuttle
The Rio shuttle is complimentary and runs to and from Harrah’s Las Vegas. It runs from 10am to 1am daily. The Shuttle arrives approximately every 30 minutes. Shuttles are accessible and are equipped with a wheelchair lift.

Guests are now required to have a Total Rewards card to ride the Rio Shuttle. The Total Rewards Card will need to be presented to the driver when boarding. Guests can sign up for a Total Rewards card at any Total Rewards booth or online with the following link : https://www.totalrewards.com/program/

Spinal Cord Injury

Spinal cord injury can result in paralysis of the muscles used for breathing; paralysis and/or loss of feeling in all or some of the trunk, arms, and legs; weakness; numbness; loss of bowel and bladder control; and numerous secondary conditions including respiratory problems, pressure sores, and sometimes fatal spikes in blood pressure. Approximately 12,000 new spinal cord injuries occur in the U.S. each year. A majority of injuries occur from motor vehicle accidents, falls, work-related accidents, sports injuries, and penetrations such as stab or gunshot wounds.
