Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of BG00012 in Subjects With Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis
Location: Barrow Neurology Clinics at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
Purpose: This research study is being done to determine if, over time, an investigational drug called BG00012 can decrease the number of certain types of brain lesions commonly seen in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) and slow down the time it takes for their disease to worsen.
Eligibility:
Inclusion criteria:
• Male or female, between 18 and 55 years of age
• Diagnosis of RRMS
• Not pregnant or breastfeeding
Procedure: Patients who are determined to be eligible will complete 27 scheduled clinic visits throughout this 2-year study. Study assessments will include: physical examinations, neurological assessments, vision tests, ECGs, measurement of vital signs, and laboratory tests.
Benefit: Patients may not benefit directly by participating in this research study. Patients may experience an improvement in their condition; however, this cannot be guaranteed. Knowledge gained from the study may benefit others in the future.
