Let’s Defeat MS Together: Share Your Story With Others
Getting a definitive diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) can take a long time.
People may spend years jumping from one doctor to the next, living with strange symptoms that come and go. MS tends to hide itself very well, mimicking many common illnesses. There’s also no single test that can prove you have it. It’s really no wonder why doctors and neurologists must piece together a diagnosis from a variety of clinical procedures, some less fun than others. We all have experienced that feeling when we visit the doctor’s office or hospital: one where you sometimes feel like a guinea pig. Going through a time in your life where you’re constantly asking yourself, “What is wrong with me?” to finally learning the answer is MS, is undoubtedly stressful and takes its toll on your mind, body, and spirit. But at the same time, some of us feel quite a bit of relief when the doc provides a name for all the puzzling symptoms we’ve experienced. Then the real battle begins.
United Spinal Association would like to hear about your personal experiences of being diagnosed with MS and how you have coped and overcome these challenges in your life. By sharing with others we can learn a lot. Let’s defeat MS together.
Please e-mail your story to tscott@unitedspinal.org and United Spinal will share it on our MS Scene Web site. Thank you!
