I already knew this, but I figured it out the hard way by having MS for nearly twenty years now. When my neurologist rx'ed beta-seron I felt like the MS got worse, not just "flu-like" symptoms. When he rx'ed rebif, I thought it was the end of the world. My MS was never worse than when I was on that drug. But since I am not a doctor no one pays any attention to me. please forgive me for being skeptical that this will have any positive effects, but after being told that a cure is right around the corner since I was sixteen years old I have grown wary. What I mean is, if this is gonna help, I'll believe it when I see it. I am through with getting my hopes up just to have them shot down.

I have had MS for 21 yrs. It worsened 12 yrs ago after a long sympton free period. I have long questioned the efficacy of Avonex as I have steadily declined while using it. I am indeed very, very grateful to the researchers for shedding light on this disease. This has been the single most important news I have learned in all my years with this disease. I have long felt this condition is more than one disease process. I look forward to learning more.

Thank you

Please convey to the authors another sincere vote of thanks for the work they are doing to unravel the mysteries of MS in order that it may be treated more effectively. Such careful and diligent research give us more hope for the future.
