It has been fascinating to watch the Action Readership Survey take shape as more of you make your way there to give your feedback on this magazine. I won’t share with you any of the trends just yet. It needs more time until the population of survey takers is more representative of Action readers.
I may be a rare bird, but I actually like taking surveys. Granted, even I get annoyed by the kind that intrude into my dinner hour and in which I’m asked an endless series of questions about banking services or toothpaste. But I was skeptical when experts told me that people generally do not like “wasting time” filling out online questionnaires that seek their opinions about something. I always assume people like giving their opinions. (Then again, I haven’t seen any surveys to support that notion…)
It’s very challenging when preparing a survey to know when to stop with the questions. If I could have, I would have made a survey that asked dozens more questions about many more aspects of the magazine and its readership. Nevertheless, I did take to heart the expert’s advice: I tried to create a form that was relatively painless and quick to fill out and that covered a lot of territory in 25 questions or less.
The Survey is still online, still available for you to add your responses to. To get there, you can go to this URL: www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=276632144636.
