LETTER TO THE EDITOR: April 2007

MS Solidarity

Although I have only been a member of United Spinal Association for a short time, I wish to express my gratitude and appreciation for the information you provide.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1999 and it is so nice to see so many articles and so much information regarding MS in your publications. I enjoy reading about other members and getting to know them and how they visualize and accept their disability, whether it be MS or some other type.

For the first several years after my diagnosis, I was not unlike many others. I questioned: “Why me?” It took me several years, but I found at least part of my answer. I have developed a Website where I make HOPE bracelets and necklaces, which I sell and then make a donation to the National MS Foundation’s Brighter Tomorrow Grant.

Recently, my husband and I designed an original one-of-a-kind lapel pin. Through the Web site and the items I sell, I hope to raise awareness about MS and at the same time to show my support for those who deal with MS on a daily basis. Your organization and publication do such a good job of doing just that.

I wish there were more publications that featured articles on those dealing with MS. I truly appreciate the efforts of every individual on your staff. Thank you for all your hard work!
