Many Congressmen took a leap of faith when they voted to override the President’s veto of H.R. 6331, the most recent Medicare bill. For some members of Congress it was an easy vote, however, for Congressional members who are closely aligned to the Republican party it was a difficult vote to go against what their party leaders and the President wanted. This was not the first time that a veto has been overidden and it will not be the last.
What is important though is to take a few moments and thank the Congressmen who voted in support of Medicare. Below are websites that show how each member of the House and Senate voted. Please take a moment to review and to send your Congressional member a thank you if they chose to support Medicare.

Go to www.house.gov and www.senate.gov to identify your federal legislators and find their contact information. The most effective way to communicate with your Members of Congress is to call or write them directly. To contact your legislators by phone, call the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask for the legislators office and then ask to speak to the staff who handles health issues.
