United Spinal’s third annual Disability Leadership and Policy Summit at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York is in progress right now. As in Philadelphia’s Summit, which took place in April, the community leaders and activists gathered at this event are discussing the impact of the Americans with Disabilities Act on the quality of life for people with disabilities 20 years after the landmark civil rights law was signed in July 1990.
