Easter Seals Project ACTION invites you to participate in an ESPA Talks – Paratransit Online Dialogue July 26 – August 6, 2010.
ESPA Talks is a series of discussions on accessible transportation held online. This virtual town hall forum is free and open to anyone with knowledge or perspective to share on the topic. Possible participants include public and private transportation providers, the disability community, paratransit providers, federal, state, and local agencies, disability services organizations, health and human services professionals, aging services agencies, the older adult community, school career/college transition coordinators, volunteer transportation program coordinators, planners, advocates, and policymakers.
Using Web-based technology, participants will engage in a creative, interactive conversation about paratransit service. During the dialogue, participants will submit, comment on, and rate ideas related to paratransit service provision. This dialogue is being held in support of the Federal Transit Administration to gather information, best practices, trends, and ideas relating to paratransit service. The information provided will be used to make recommendations and develop best practices on ways to meet the needs for efficient, effective, and person-directed paratransit services while addressing the challenges of reduced funding and other possible resource constraints that are facing many communities.
Transportation services discussed during the dialogue will include the Americans with Disabilities Act complementary paratransit service, human services paratransit services, accessible fixed route transportation services, accessible pathways, taxis, volunteer programs, and aging services transportation.
A one-page information sheet is available here. The ESPA dialogue page is here.
A summary report will be made available by e-mail to all who register for the dialogue.
