Non-Drug Study, Open For Enrollment: Couples Living With Multiple Sclerosis
Couples Living with Multiple Sclerosis
Location: East Carolina University, Greenville, NC
Purpose: The purpose of this project is to understand the experiences of couples in which one member has multiple sclerosis (MS).
Eligibility: Persons with a definite diagnosis of multiple sclerosis who are in a committed relationship and persons in a committed relationship with a person with multiple sclerosis. While we hope to collect data from both persons in the relationship, individuals can participate in the study if their partner does not desire to do so.
Procedure: Interested participants should email the principal investigator and request that a link to the survey be emailed to them. In the body of their email they should indicate whether they are the person with MS or the partner of a person with MS.
Benefit: The benefits of this research may be an increased knowledge of the impact of chronic illnesses (in this case MS) on individuals and couples. Couples may also benefit from reflecting on how they have coped with this challenge in their lives.
